- DAILY JOURNAL: On a fresh piece of paper, kindly put the date in cursive! We will be revisiting our mystery guests again today, Kylene and my sister Laura, because my sister really could not see anyone on her phone, and she asked if we could redo it while she is on her laptop....She fostered her dog KK Beau Bay when she flunked out of Guide Dogs for the Blind (she liked to eat socks...no good for blind folks)---but then received training as a mobility dog. They call these types of dogs "Career Change Dogs", and KK helps my sister with her mobility (my sister is a cancer survivor!)....Think about some questions you might want to ask on any of these topics: dogs, California, fighting cancer, being my big sister, whatevs----and jot them down in your journal for our Q & A session today!

RELIGION
- I am not sure if you have heard, but our buddy Melanie in grade 3 has been fighting brain cancer at the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia...I thought it might be a nice gesture to send her a card! Grade 5 always makes the best cards! Here is her address which was taken from Mr. Dunnigan's blog...And as the saying goes, laughter is the best medicine---so perhaps you would like to include a school appropriate joke!

Flower Contest Celebrating the Beauty of God’s Creation!!!
The Easter Season is a time to celebrate the new life that springtime offers. We are asking students to submit photographs, drawings, paintings and poems that celebrate the beauty of flowers.
They should be submitted electronically either by scanning, or taking photos and emailing to: Deacon Murphy at: advmath@stthereseroxbury.org. The Committee will collect and review all submissions and post as many as we can on the school website and social media, awarding Honorable Mentions in the following themes:
Colorful
Funny
Tells a story
Joyful
Emotional
Unique design
Unusual flowers
(additional themes will be added, inspired by work submitted)
Guidelines: As a Catholic school we want to ensure what we post is appropriate therefore we may decline to post certain submissions if they do not meet the overall theme of this project, or are contrary to Catholic teaching.
Do encourage your students to be creative. Flowers not only grow from the ground but also on trees, in flower boxes and indoors as well as outdoors. Do photograph or scan and send from your email account that we have on file. We will not accept submissions from non-recognized accounts, nor from social media. Do limit your submission to a single page. Where appropriate, a student's picture can be included in the submission (for example holding up their artwork). Finally, Do be creative, use your imagination and enjoy yourselves!
We look forward to seeing your work.
Deadline: All entries must be submitted by Friday May 8th.
The Committee: Mrs. Carol Joyce; Mrs. Charlene Cardinale; Deacon Murphy
