Hello, hello, hello to you!

What an absolutely great group of fifth graders we have at STS!  We are off to a phenomenal start!

I forgot to remind everyone today to please bring in your $9.00 for Pizza this month, and, of course, Pizza Day starts this Friday.  Also, this Friday is our first Tag Day fundraiser for 8th Grade!  The theme is blue for KINDNESS...Each tag day is $1 buck---or pay $10 for the whole year!  Don't forget, the STS Ice Cream Social takes place this Friday at 7PM!

Supplies: The Art Supplies List/Bin was omitted from this year's "School Supply List". Our students will now come into Art Class and be provided all supplies! In that respect, we are asking each family to send in $10.00 (per each student in your family), so that the Art Department can maintain these supplies for personal and collaborative works. Please remit this by cash or, if by check, made out to "St. Therese School" noting "ART" in the memo field. Enclose in an envelope marked: ART PROGRAM / Ms. HOPKINS. Please remit by 09/14/18. THANK YOU!

If you don’t have all of your supplies yet, don’t worry…Wrong colored folders, no big deal, we adjust….But we are asking to have all of our textbooks covered by NEXT MON…Please DON'T lug all your books home at once and if you need more time let me know….You can bring in book sox , or I can give you some paper to cover them (like I used to do as a kid)...Please be advised you might need an extra large book sox----That social studies book is a whopper!

LANGUAGE ARTS:

·       ENGLISH:  finish w.b. page 5

·       READING: finish Frindle worksheet

·       We will be decorating your writing Journal!  Please start collecting items that will inspire your writing!  Photographs, images, post cards, baseball cards, ticket stubs….anything that will trigger you to GO DEEPER into your writing practice!

·       Work on your reading endurance!  Try to read every night for at least forty five minutes!

·        Math workbook page 5 #7-21 odds

·        WE ARE BUILDING ON YOUR MASTERY OF MATH FACTS…If your math facts are weak; YOU NEED TO BE WORKING EVERY NIGHT TO GET THEM DOWN PAT!  You have options---flashcards, online games---find what works for you and DO IT! 

·        Have any extra time, math fans???  You can practice problems at https://www.ixl.com/signin

·        You can always use www.khanacademy.com and www.watchlearnknow.org for additional support!
